Hotel Flower Garden Unawatuna, Unawatuna

My stay at this hotel was a mixed experience. The first room I was given was below par, with worn-out and dirty amenities, but thankfully I was able to switch to a much better room. However, the second room overlooked a swamp or garbage area, which was quite unpleasant. The shower in the initial room was dangerous due to a bulge in the bath, which was a major inconvenience.

The hotel has a great location, surrounded by beautiful flowers and plants, offering a quiet escape while still close to everything. The rooms were initially in a less favorable location but were swiftly moved to a much better area. The dining experience was delicious, offering a variety of fresh options, although the breakfast start time might not suit early risers. The facilities were modern and well-kept.

I stayed in a room at the back of the resort overlooking a stagnant stream. The room was very large, very clean, bright, and airy. The hotel is located conveniently within walking distance to many little shops and eateries, making it a nice place to stay. However, the dining options were somewhat limited, and the variety could have been better. The best part of my stay was definitely the dining experience, especially the pineapple pancake.

My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The rooms were a big improvement until a shocking discovery of a dead cockroach in the bed netting, and they required a thorough deep clean despite daily cleaning. The location was a mix of dirty surroundings and beautiful gardens, with unsatisfactory room views at times. The dining experience was excellent, with fresh and delicious meals, but some aspects needed improvement.

This hotel turned out to be a surprising gem during my stay in Sri Lanka. The rooms were classy, spacious, and tastefully designed, blending old and new Sri Lankan furniture seamlessly. Despite overlooking a back house and the main road, the room came with a minibar restocked daily, adding a special touch to the stay.
